there should be a democratic fp system
as well as the mods overarching supremacy, whereby there is a little 'fp?' link next to every picture post and if it gets 25 votes or something, it gets put on the front page.

Wouldn't work though.
Everyone would have 2 accounts and vote for themselves!

one vote per person?
and the mods still have autonomy over whether it gets fpd or not

does the magic donkey come into this brave new world?

it more or less works this way anyway.
if loads of people reply positively to an image, 9 times out of 10* it'll get FPd.
Also, the FP is just a little bonus. I don't really think it's supposed to be the 'aim' of posting - making people smile on the board is the much worthier pursuit. *looks to the heavens with a soporific smile*
*Well, maybe 7 or 8. But you get my point. :)

But the overl... I mean mods aren't here all the time
so this will sink into obscurity and, goddammit, I won't let that happen!

You'd be surprised, actually - if a post elicits enough of a response, it generally gets spotted and FPd even if it's like 4am.
Mods take their job seriously enough to spazz back a few pages every now and again, I think it's safe to assume. :)

they don`t post much, on the whole, but they`re generally around

I read that as
"is the much worthier biscuit"
I like my biscuits as worthy as I can get them!

I'm undecided
but I (in the nicest way possible) laugh at your pink wafers. I prefer a more traditional Chocolate digestive, or maybe a bourbon, or maybe a custard cream, or those ones with cows on. Mmmmmm.... Biscuits!

Custard Creams
It's versatility in the way you eat it knows no bounds.
Borbons cannot come close as the cream filling is too hard and unforgiving.

My tip from the top
Which will probably drop off the board before anyone sees it.
Tescos own brand chocolate digestives. They are truly amazing. I ate a whole pack in 1 day through "Just one more" syndrome.

nah it works more along the lines of
what`s topical, funny, well-executed and likely to end up in people`s mailboxes
stuff like animashes and swishy surreal animations tends to get frontpaged because of the obvious amount of work that went in to it, or sheer fluffiness
well that`s what I thinks anyway
