# but drugs is BAAAAAAAAAAAAAD.
(, Tue 20 Feb 2007, 13:15, archived)
# Who told you that?
Having experimented with a hearty zeal I can only say that I've generally enjoyed most illegal substances I've done.

Except acid. Oooh dear.

# opium isn't something i ever want to do again
(, Tue 20 Feb 2007, 13:17, archived)
# Oh that's a shame
that was on my list. Was it horrid? Or, like it's sister, was it too nice?

I'm still wondering whether I want to try ya-ba or not (thai amphetamine, apparently strange)

# is Bisto on your list?
(, Tue 20 Feb 2007, 13:20, archived)
# Bisto is gorgeous
but not illegal. Yet.

Bisto granules on toast- my mum loves it. I used to like oxo cube crumbled on toast when I was little, but I think that amount of salt would probably kill me now.

# hahahaha stear clear of that shit. Seriously.
(, Tue 20 Feb 2007, 13:26, archived)
# Yeah, that's about 90% of what I've heard.
But then you get the occasional person who says it's great.

Although the same could be said of Westlife.
(, Tue 20 Feb 2007, 13:27, archived)
# please don't say that to me.
i've seen one too many people getting destroyed by it.
(, Tue 20 Feb 2007, 13:18, archived)
# Say what?
That I don't like LSD?

Sorry, that's a bit confusing, but never mind.

# This^
Ms weasel lost her mum to drug abuse. I swore never to touch drugs again
(, Tue 20 Feb 2007, 13:21, archived)
# That's fantastic.
I, however, have not. I do not 'abuse' (such a vague term) drugs - in fact most except one I have only tried the once, and having experienced them and recorded the experience have not gone back.
(, Tue 20 Feb 2007, 13:23, archived)
# Ok, I'm not judging you or anything
by all means go ahead. I was just This^ing Mr Johnson up there
(, Tue 20 Feb 2007, 13:25, archived)
# like weasel said, i'm not judging you.
but you have no idea how many times people (who were involved with drugs) said that to me. you should look at them now.
(, Tue 20 Feb 2007, 13:27, archived)
# What, that two years ago they documented their experiences with several illegal substances for a book idea that is as of yet unfinished?
And haven't touched anything but a bit of weed since?

Sorry to sound a bit like my hackles are up, but you don't know much about me at all, and even less about that part of my life. I've seen people get terribly messed up on drugs- in fact my own father is pretty much like Ozzy Osbourne now, and I lost a friend in 2002 to a heroin overdose. I didn't walk into it with my eyes shut. But I was overridingly curious, so I recorded my experiences on paper, and also filmed some as well.

I'm now older, and less curious. But I'm not about to apologise for making my own choices.

Gah, another edit- I sound really like I'm getting stompy, but I'm not. I understand that a lot of people have seen others have awful experiences, lose lives, this that and the other. And as much as I feel for the people this happens to, I also think about all the other things that can mess you up - like the motorbike vs car accident that left my friend paraplegic. It doesn't mean I won't drive, although I'll be bloody careful about it.

# No one asked you to appologise
They're your choices, you can do whatever you see fit
(, Tue 20 Feb 2007, 13:38, archived)
# and nor should you.
people are entitled to their opinion
as long as they don't ram down your throat.

# Driving is the worst drug of all
I got in my car this morning and didn't get out again for an hour. Sometimes I get in and stay in it all day. And you can never leave it alone. BEWARE.
(, Tue 20 Feb 2007, 13:43, archived)
# i never said you had to, it's your life and you lead the way you want to.
i'm not here to tell you what to do, and i never will, i'm just saying that i've seen people do things with drugs that have left me quite shocked/scared, to say the least. but can we be fluffy again now? as i didn't want to upset you in any way.
(, Tue 20 Feb 2007, 13:44, archived)
# never tried 'em
not in the least bit interested.
(, Tue 20 Feb 2007, 13:24, archived)
# well, alcohol and cigs are drugs too, mkay...

(, Tue 20 Feb 2007, 13:26, archived)
# yes but i don't smoke and drink either...
well, the occasional pint or glass of whiskey/rum.
(, Tue 20 Feb 2007, 13:30, archived)
# Surprisingly, this^ too
(, Tue 20 Feb 2007, 13:31, archived)
# Yea and caffeine and sugar and while we're naming dependencies
you might as well add air and water too. We're pretty dependant on those.

I donno, it always grabbed my goat when people would argue "oh sugar is a drug too"
(, Tue 20 Feb 2007, 13:42, archived)
# Me too
It's such fun to see somebody end up in hospital, a cabbage.
29 years old, she sits in a wheelchair all day and shakes. She is paralysed but her mind is active. Her tear ducts work well though as she cries constantly.

That's the extreme. The other side of it is that you grow up and realise that you've probably caused yourself some harm when you nderstand why you don't function as well as others.

# this^ =(
Well this is a lovely topic of conversation
