# Pssst!
It's Abbey Road

PS.

# did you get that
from a dutch(?) advert where the family are all swearing their heads off, by any chance
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:29, archived)
# "Want to learn English?"
classic...
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:29, archived)
# Yep
Except it's the radio that's swearing
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:36, archived)
# Now that...
...is simply brilliant.
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:26, archived)
# But outdated...
Look closely, Paul still has a fag - this has now been shopped out by America, 'twas on the news, Trevor McDonut said so.

# i saw that
the excuse being that they didn't want cigarrettes to seem cool.
Will non-cool bands be encouraged to smoke then?
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:30, archived)
# Or play with guns maybe?
Anyone got Boyzone's address?
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:33, archived)
# teehee
can't we just shoot Pete Waterman and stop it at the epicentre?
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:36, archived)
# Just because they're idiots
doesn't mean I need to be.
Actually I don't have much of a choice.
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:32, archived)
# good lord.
I can't imagine how long you spent on that.
not that it wasn't well woo worth the time but...
jeez!
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:27, archived)
# look zog
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:29, archived)
# new lathe of heaven?
I still like the 1980 one. Although anything with Badalamenti doing the score is worth at least listening to.
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:30, archived)
# oh were you talking about another one?
Maybe that one was a bit better than this effort then.
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:31, archived)
# yes, I saw the film first.
I must have been about 10 when it came out. it blew my mind. I kept thinking about it for years, then I saw the book at a used book store and thought, woah! I should read that. then I did. then I gave it to you.
In the movie, it's more concretely stated that it's all the last 90 seconds of his life flashing before his eyes as he lays in the rubble of the last great war, staring at a flower.
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:33, archived)
# i think i need to see the proper movie then
this tv movie thing really crapped out.
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:34, archived)
# oh, I meant the tv movie I think.
I dunno if there was a "film". sorry.
but I meant the 80s tv movie.
that's what I saw.

edit: it's funny though, that collective subconsciousness, huh?
we think about the lathe of heaven, I mean I remember it, read the book, give it to you, you read it, and then we go to sleep and when we wake up they've made a remake of it for tv and it's on just now.
Almost as if the story wasn't that far of from the truth.
I'm creeping me out.
(and therefore creeping us all out that little bit)
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:36, archived)
# well whatever the thing in the 80's was that's what I meant too.
this was done in 2001.
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:38, archived)
# nae
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:40, archived)
# i was thinking 'last year'
and still haven't properly accepted being in 2003 yet.
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:41, archived)
# Looks like they were both made for TV
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:40, archived)
# nice simultaneous postage there
:)
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:42, archived)
# yes so now there's a new version of the TV movie
with clearly a different ending from what you've said and who knows what other subtle changes.
:) :) :)
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:41, archived)
# I hope the new ending
doesn't mean I'm dead having my head crushed by a cement wall and forced to look at a flower while I just imagine that there's really a b3ta.
and a fnord.
and an england.
and all the other bits.
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:45, archived)
# the new ending is crap american tv movie crap crap crap type crap crap ending
(if you catch my rose scented drift)
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:49, archived)
# Imagine how much time I spent on these!
It really isn't worth it, but we do them anyway.
dancing guy

# that really crowns off
a night of uber-hummus on the board! Genius
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:27, archived)
# nice

edit:perhaps I shouldn't use that one in the night, people might think Cardiff has a huge night-light or something.
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:28, archived)
# genius!
(, Wed 22 Jan 2003, 0:29, archived)
