# probably, knowing how wank ford dealers are
i think my sister still has an 8 Track player in the attic. When I finally get my hands on another classic car, i shall be wanting to fit that.

# if you're going to be putting audio equipment into it
you might want to buy one rather than just putting your hands on it... unless you live in a society with different rules regarding ownership

# oh you shit

# you know he probably does?

# ah
you see buying cars is something i avoid. i wait until other people are so sick of them that they are willing to give them away.

the other option i go for is "short term ownership":

pay 50 quid for an imminent MOT failure wreck, run for six to 9 months, weigh it in for 30 quid scrap. bargain!

# you shouldn't need to pay to have them scrapped these days
new regs and all that
(, Tue 8 May 2007, 14:50, archived)
# no....
i take the wreck to the scrappy.
he gives me 30 quid.
the car gets crushed*
profit**!

*neatly disposing of the body in the boot too!
**for a given value of profit.

# That has not happened in 10 years.
The cheeky bastards make you pat to take it off your hands.

# I'm with you on that
Living in London, my car was just for heavy shopping and local trips.
My best was a clapped out Rover 213. I bought it for 250 pounds and kept it for almost 4 years. Only replaced the brake pads and chucked in a bit of oil on the odd occassion.
The only reason it failed its MOT was because of rust.
