# Woo!
TJ: The company for which I work is being a bunch of gays horde of bastards.

They budgeted us an 11 million pound profit this year. Due to a number of external factors (i.e. a big load of work just not happening that had been promised to us) we only made a 6 million pound profit.

As a result 50% of staff are recieving 0% pay rises this year. Effectively having their pay cut.

Which staff get pay rises will be decided on the basis of performace, apparently.

Do I have any call to be angry?
I feel as though I do, but there's part of me that whispering 'you probably just don't understand'

EDIT: I apologise for the factually inaccurate use of the phrase 'bunch of gays'. I don't know the proper collective noun for 'bastards'.

# big companies are cunts
they can't give you a pay rise, so they earmarked all that profit for fatcat bonuses

# oooh...
I'll take a massive cheese in place of a pay rise.

As long as it is
a) nice
and
b) sufficiently massive

# those are among the reasons I don't work for myself.
One of the others being that I haven't the financial backing to create a fully equipped forensic science lab and peer-checking my own work might be considered a bit suspect.

# That was roughly my thinking,
but then I had a bout of what-the-fuck-ness and risked it. Result: far less money, no company car, 3000% more job satisfaction

/dropped out of analytical chem to be a sound designer blog

I'd lean back with a croissant, but I can't afford one this month.

Geez, 6 million is hardly enough to fund management's 50% salary raise, be glad they don't cut yours!
