it is indeed cocking huge, I hadn't realised. It was only a phone picture, which is tiny, and rubbish resolution. What sort of size am I looking for? I've worked out how to make it smaller now.

less than 1024x768 in size is usually best,
but more importantly, less than 50k in size for static images (got to think of the poor sods who pay for their bandwidth by the MB). And Less than 250k for animations.
You can always link to bigger versions if you need/want to.
