he is currently band 3, i'm band 4 (had to match my previous wage or I wouldn't have considered it).
He's just landed band 6 with no previous experience.

But generally I do end up doing pretty shit jobs that someone else in the office couldn't be bothered to do. That or tidying up after the temp before me, who must have had a brain the size of a quark.
