Same as if I'm working in a shop, or as a barman, or a hooker, and there's someone I don't wanna 'service' for whatever reason - I'd like to think I reserve the right to say "thanks, but no thanks".

Some places are either a) potentially dodgy for a lone bloke in a car with two or three fellas behind him, or b) too far or too complicated a journey to make the fare worth the petrol/time/potential other missed fares or whatnot.

Fucking hell, what a boring reply that was. Right, I'm off home! ;)

At least in London. The taxi driver *has* to take you (subject to 'up to a certain distance' rules which I do not have to hand here).

If they refuse, take their number and report them. I wouldn't normally be so syrident, but I was implored to do this by a cabbie after I thanked him for taking me to my god-forsaken hole, coincidentally south of the river.
