# Oooh.
I seem to have the most music in common with you. Yeah. I like all that, except the Beatles.

# woah!
take that back!

# she's young, she'll start actually understanding music soon and see the textbook error she made in that statement
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:03, archived)
# ^THIS :D
i don't see how anyone can claim to like any music and then say they don't like the beatles
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:07, archived)
# why?
everyone has different tastes
i think we can all agree they were talented songwriters
but i know i'm not really as fan of 'the beatles'
and really, only like harrison's solo output (except the fucking travelling fucking wilbury's)
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:40, archived)
# Noooo.
I like their lyrics, but I don't like their sound. And i don't really think I'm about to change that. :]
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:07, archived)
# trust me, in 10 years you will think the opposite
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:10, archived)
# Why?
That's Mum music. I am not mum, I never will be a mum. Thusly, no Beatles.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:12, archived)
# you'll see
i'm not sure forcibly expelling a tiny human from your body makes you like the beatles though....
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:15, archived)
# Ssssh
Noooo.
The only time I liked the Beatles was when I saw Across The Universe.

# hahaha
it's like it's some huge mystical secret

(which it is)
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:21, archived)
# in which case, like it or not
your mum has a better understanding of music than you. Either that or she just remmebres something amazing and refuses to let go
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:18, archived)
# I think the latter.
In 10 years' time, the Beatles will sound even more shit than now. So I don't see myself ever liking them, even thought my music tastes are always changing and moving.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:21, archived)
# I am not a massive Beatles fan,
but I think that it is very much the blinkers of youth that would make you say they are shit :)

My biggest problem with them isnt their music, it is more the pedestal that they are put upon that gets me. I dont believe any band could ever be as good as people make them out to be. However, love them or hate them, you have to appreciate that they are the most important band in modern music.
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:28, archived)
# i sort of agree with this
especially the way that the surviving members have managed to get away with churning out some absolute shit (some of mccartney's most recent stuff is pretty good though, especially chaos and creation...)

i'd like to see a modern band so prolific and yet with such a range and quality to their music though

# it can't happen now
the internet has fragmented music too much
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:40, archived)
# the beatles? Just a band
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:36, archived)
# but by that logic all music dopplershifts into shittness as it ages
which Buddy Holly, David Bowie, Jimmi Hendrix among many many others disprove.

don't throw all of the old stuff out of the window because your folks listen to it. it was the music that shaped that generation for a reason.

i'm revisiting The Distillers at the moment. I do like brody's awful voice
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:30, archived)
# David Bowie will ALWAYS be good.

# the best band I saw
at Glastonbury was Dead Kids
(, Mon 7 Jul 2008, 20:02, archived)
# ooh,
I like Dead Kids. I do not remember where, but I have the feeling I may have seen them.
