# The Guiness Book...
of pish, says parasites carried by mozzies are officially the biggest cause of human death from an animal:

"The world's most dangerous animal (excluding man) are MALARIAL PARASITES of the genus PLASMODIUM carried by mosquitoes of the genus ANOPHELES, which, if we exclude wars and accidents, have probably been responsible directly or indirectly for 50% of all human deaths since the Stone Age. Even today, despite major campaigns to eradicate malaria, at least 200 million people are ailing by the disease each year, and more than one million babies and children die annually from it in Africa alone."

# Again that's just someone elses point of view
plus that is a book of world reconds not science. You can not rightly say that the mozzy directly causes the death.
Also If we're talking about the most dangerous animal then it can only be established by the threat posed by an atypical specimen.
As only female mossies do the biting then you can't attribute the species as a whole to being the most dangerous.

# to be honest
it definately is humans, but we don't think we're an animal.

# It's not the mozzie itself...
After further reading, it's the malarial parasite that is carried by the mozzie... which is, actually, an animal... apparently
