# I'm sure they thought,
Wow! We must be cracking parents to raise such an amazing boy!

# Well yeah, but also "Fuck, he could have been killed"
Which, I'd imagine, is what they'd have thought when he actually went to war in the first place :/

# Aye,
it is a very real possibility. :)

But as I said before, I lost a mate in Afgh last year and although we all knew it was a very real risk that he wouldnt come back, it was still a shock that he didn't....

# It's ok. He died doing what he loved!
*cliche alert*

And some good has come from it. His parents and all of us have raised £7,500 in 8 months for the Help for Heroes charity. And I would strongly urge people to donate to the charity if they can! They do a sterling job!

# what, fighting for very, very poorly defined reasons?
or just ensuring the rich in america stay rich?

# Well, that is obviously opinion which I wont get into.
Which is not to say that I support the war. But he believed in fighting for his country. He wasnt in charge and didn't sign up to fight in Afghanistan. He signed up to fight for what he believed in.

Blame the people who lead them to war all you like, but I think it is extremely unfair to blame the soldiers...

# When you consider that 90% of heroin in the UK comes from Afghanistan
I think it's right that we intervene in their affairs, tbh.

# I really admire soldiers who go to war to fight and stuff.
I'd never go, though.
