Too much time spent with interfering in-laws has taken its toll

hmmm
I never had one myself, but I imagine everyone wants a piece, and a say in how you should do everything.
You'll probably get on fine now it's just the three of you.

Best piece of advice I had beforehand
'You worry about feeding baby and sleeping, get him to sort everything else' - now THAT is advice I can take

Nope
She came round to ours last week and started throwing things away. MY things.
Then we went up to theirs (had to, it's free and we had a wedding to go to) and she just wouldn't stop. If I said that rocking the pram wouldn't soothe her, MIL would do it anyway to prove me wrong (and fail). I'd just got her settled when MIL took all the blankets off her and said 'there, you have a good kick' - she won't settle if she can kick. Within 30 seconds she was screaming her lungs out...

I threw a hormonal hissy fit
And we left a day early. I may end up falling out with all of Mr Trellis' family before the end of the month. MiL and BiL already sorted, let's start on the FiL and SiL....

would've been great if you'd tied a strap-on to the baby before your MIL took the blankets off

My dad, massive hulking great thing that he is
would cry his little eyes out. Babies and OAP special editions of Blind Date- the only things that make him cry.

My dad's been excellent
It's his first grandsprog, he's besotted. Plus he did my epidural for me, which was brilliant :)
