manual focus of course
edit : took me about 5 attempts to get the stupid thing to stay still! was buzzing about the garden all day and kept coming back to be photographed :D
edit 2 : I also bought uv filter too and remote shutter too, takes alot of vibration out of the 500mm+ shots :D

Though that one doesn't seem to be compatible with my canon model

I tell you what i did buy which i found REALLY useful... hold on...
level for long distances.. disadvantage = no flash, but long distance don't normally need flash... and...
eye piece but i had to glue mine because its not the best quality in the world... (works a treat but the bit that holds it onto the camera is a bit flimsy!)

wait till he gets to that low bridge, decapitates himself, falls in the water and gets robbed by the camden junkies, then stabbed.

and if it's at all heavy the camera will fall over, probably. that said a wee tripod is dead handy as is a monopod,( if that's what a one legged tripod is called).

i made it myself from a 1980s 3 legged tripod with 2 broken legs, by removing the legs and shoving a broken walking stick in the end :D
I would show you a picture of it but its on my old hd (with 12 years of stuff) which just crashed and burnt a day before i was going to back everything up :(

i had one that my machine only saw as a raw data unformatted drive,if at all, i got hold of some recovery software, it found the 80g i knew was on there and it allowed me to copy everything.

doh!
i think its more a recognition problem though, keeps wanting to format itself instead of letting me move the data i know is on there...
edit : hang on i can't read - sounds like we have the same problem :D
