# Fuuuuck. How long do you usual spend on stuff like this?

# 2-3 hours.
It's only tracing after all. I just use the photo to get the shape and value but really once you understand the brushes and blending it gets pretty easy after a while.
As I always say, I profess to no talent, but I do have a fair bit of technique under my belt.

# And, also important: time and patience.
I only manage to undertake such a task once every few months.

not that I'm anywhere near as good, nor pretend to be.

# The freehand
concept stuff I'm doing takes me weeks because I can't seem to work on things for more than 30 minutes at a time without getting frustrated or lost. So I just do stuff like this to keep my hand in and watch Gnomon training videos all day to keep me motivated.

Edit 2:// I realise I sound a bit flippant about some of the stuff I do being easy and it is, but mainly because I buy a shitload of tutorial videos, I don't actually use photoshop much and most important I have a Wacom Intuos 3 A4 oversize. A good, pressure sensitive tablet with an airbrush pen is essential for making things quick.
