# To be honest with you,
I haven't found a program that is as nice to navigate as iTunes yet.

However, it does rape my computers memory! Not to an extent that it breaks it mind, but it is noticable that it is on!

# I've found a great program that is organised, easy to use, uses barely any memory and doesn't even require a download.
It's called folders.

# hey you know something amazing I found in folders
I can like.. click on an mp3 file

and like IT ACTUALLY STARTS PLAYING

it's fucking amazing!

# You can put random play on in almost every media player program known to man.
I'm fairly sure even XMPlayer has a music library function, and that's playing music made out bits of robot's brains!

# and make complex playlists with one click
and rate all my tunes
and not have them open in WMP
and collect all my favourite podcasts
or just play tunes that begin with F
or were recorded in 1997

# what the hell is wrong with WMP, may i ask?
(, Fri 24 Oct 2008, 16:00, archived)
# It's not as well marketed as iTunes
which makes everyone assume it's not as good.
(, Fri 24 Oct 2008, 16:06, archived)
# because it doesn't work with the i-pod they just bought?
(, Fri 24 Oct 2008, 16:14, archived)
# Also because the audio output quality is lower than that of
iTunes, which in turn is lower than that of Winamp.

# I remember installing quicktime once
and I didn't have a choice about downloading itunes

apparently finding this stupid was "wrong" and "I didn't have to install it"

# Aye, I think that is the main problem n'est pas?
(, Fri 24 Oct 2008, 15:46, archived)
# I just found the user interface on quicktime inconsistent with windows to the point where it just pissed me off
I can still play quicktime too

and yes, I know apple is the shit for video editing but like.. meh

# I won't have the shite on my PC.
All you need is quicktime alternative ( not apple )
www.codecguide.com/about_qt.htm
and media player classic ( not microsoft ) which is inside Real alternative
www.codecguide.com/about_real.htm

and you can dump every other single piece of bloated audio and video software from your system.

edit as for video editing? Fuck apple.

Ulead video studio can be found for free now that Corel have bout them out and brought a new version to the table which is brilliant.
www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/us/en/Product/1175714228541#versionTabview=tab0&tabview=tab0

but the best of all for professional editing and post processing is Pinnacle Studio.

# yes, I don't have quicktime on my computer
I can still play quicktime files

and I don't do editing, but know people who do it on occasion for money

# have to agree with this though

# Media Monkey is supposed to be good.
Not my cup of tea, but neither is iTunes.

# There's nowt
