# The general rule in the US seems to be
if something is nice, make an ice cream and/or a drink out of it. So you get garlic and lobster ice cream (yes really), and Toffee And Almond Fudgecake With Sprinkles flavoured soda (I made that up, but that doesn't mean it's not true).

It worries me as I think that this is starting to happen here in the UK as well

Barring fish and chips, our food has been lousy since the 1950s, meat flavoured lard with salt on it.
Hence the foreign takeaways everywhere.

we've incorporated the cuisine into our own culture and made it our own. The Indian and Chinese food we eat here isn't the same as the food eaten by real Indian people living in India and real Chinese people living in China.

I think it's really that simple, and I think it's a terrible shame and a loss. I don't want to be a bore about this so I'll shut up now, but this is a subject I'm very passionate about.
