I'm in a digital post production class and my final project (in after effects) requires animated text... which I'm very much squared away with. My question is, how can one make 3d text? Not like a flat, 2d word manipulated in 3d space - I mean actual 3d letters, with depth and everything. Like in the classic windows screen saver. Would you happen to know how to pull that off?

I've never had the time or money to learn AE so don't know what it's capable of, although I would assume it was capable as it's got 3d space with cameras.
