If you're on contract though, best thing to do is ring up the support line and ask them.

I guess I just don't want to admit that I'm not using the snazzy new phone I bartered so hard to get, silly really, I'm sure there's nothing in the contract that states you have to use the phone they provided.

He likes big phones that don't have cameras and music and stuff, but the provider keeps sending him flashy tiny phones with knobs on.
He just sells them and keeps on with the phone he has.
The contract you have is for the sim, not the phone. They just give you phones so you'll use their sim. Don't worry about selling the new one. Whoever you sell it to will register it.
