# Yay rope/tyre swings
with all this H&S nonsense you don't see them anymore. I saw one being burnt down by the Council - no wonder kids end up twockin', muggin' and robbin'
(, Thu 18 Dec 2008, 11:24, archived)
# BURNT down?
What the hell was the idea behind that?
"If we burn a rubber tyre and nylon rope the toxic fumes will surely put the kids off."?
(, Thu 18 Dec 2008, 11:26, archived)
# They brunt the rope
the tyre was removed I believe although I didn't see that part.
(, Thu 18 Dec 2008, 11:33, archived)
# wasn't like that in our day...we just had bags of glue..

# Bags of Glue?
... You were lucky. There were hundred an' fifty of us huddled 'round a permanent marker in middle of t'road
(, Thu 18 Dec 2008, 11:29, archived)
# when I say bags of glue what I really ment was empty crisp packets and tipex cleaner

# Aww!
Bless :D

Also, sorry to TJ but I could do with some advice.
I just renewed my mobile contract and have a new phone and sim, I'm not intending to use the phone, just sell it to pay for the phone I really want, but the bumf I got with the new sim is very eager to point out that I need to register it. It seems to be almost purely to register the phone, which there's no point to as I wont have it, but I don't really know how it works so am still worried that something needs to be done to use the new sim/keep my number etc...anyone know?
(, Thu 18 Dec 2008, 11:26, archived)
# wouldn't it have been easier to say I want this phone (the one you really wanted)
and stay on the same contract, I'm sure they would have gotten it for you.
(, Thu 18 Dec 2008, 11:30, archived)
# ^this, they will generally bend over backwards if you say you can get the phone you want with another company
/works with orange anyway.

If you're on contract though, best thing to do is ring up the support line and ask them.
(, Thu 18 Dec 2008, 11:32, archived)
# Yes, I suppose so.
I guess I just don't want to admit that I'm not using the snazzy new phone I bartered so hard to get, silly really, I'm sure there's nothing in the contract that states you have to use the phone they provided.
(, Thu 18 Dec 2008, 11:35, archived)
# mr b3th does it all the time
He likes big phones that don't have cameras and music and stuff, but the provider keeps sending him flashy tiny phones with knobs on.

He just sells them and keeps on with the phone he has.

The contract you have is for the sim, not the phone. They just give you phones so you'll use their sim. Don't worry about selling the new one. Whoever you sell it to will register it.
(, Thu 18 Dec 2008, 11:57, archived)
# Yeah, it would, but they don't do the phone
None of the networks do. I'm on the same contract, just renewed it and got a new phone.

# I just can't be arsed love.
Things. Numbers. IMEI. Big Juju.

I hope that helps.
