If you want Sponge, have sponge. If you want marzipan, have marzipan! Don't mix the two!
It would be like going to the Kebab shop and asking for a half pounder but having one burger meaty and the other one vegetarian. It is just wrong!

of adding ingredients together to make something better than the sum of it's parts. Sponge is dull, marzipan to too sweet... add them together! magic happens.

I only ever eat one ingredient at a time.
Last night, I had a cake. However, I ate it over the space of an hour or two as I had a bowl of flour, then a bowl of caster sugar, then a couple of eggs, a chunk of butter and then some icing sugar. I washed it all down at the end with a glass of water.
