....when wagonwheels needed two hands to hold, when saturday morning TV warranted you getting up at 6am
when talking toys had pullstrings, when you could buy realistic looking capguns and run around outside with them and not be shot at by dippy police officers who are now 15 years younger than you.

Fantastic marketing for a very disappointing film
Thing is that kind of thing could never be repeated now, with everyone being so web savvy
And they always maintained they'd never seen cannibal Holocaust, or The last Braodcast.... lying fuckers

They could try it again using a media that hadn't exist then.
Maybe use charity muggers instead.

I saw it after the initial hype - rented it when it was released, and watched it on my own in the middle of the night with the lights off.
the ending creeped the hell out of me....

Must say I loved the ending
But that was the bit that kost of the people who slagged it off DIDN'T like
I'm desensitised to horror films. About the only thing in the last 20 years that freaked me was Audition... the sack

everyone who I know who has said they didn't like the ending admitted to the fact they never paid any attention to what was said near the beginning... odd that.
Audition was sickeningly great... Not seen it for ages.. might have to dig out the DVD...
Get hold of *REC and watch it in the dark with the sound up. DON'T watch Quarantine - the inferior US remake
