# I saw this and felt compelled to add a few missing tips...

# Incidentally
I have 6gb of crucial ram in my compy.
Not because of some moron in a red shirt holding innacurate information.
Rather it's because Vista has an ever hungry gaping maw that demands memory.

# 6G of RAM?
Fuck. What are you running, Skynet?
(, Mon 31 Aug 2009, 5:36, archived)
# Haha
I do 3d render stuff which makes the compy die normally.

Incidentally, it was my birthday a few days ago on the 29th.
That just so happens to be Judgement day in Terminator 2, also Michael Jacksons birthday.
COINCIDENCE? Possibly, but maybe I should mention something in the conspiracy theory thread...

# Those phasers actually were shit.
On kill they dissolved the target to sparkling lights with no blood
or stumpy parts left over. Totally useless for fun if you ask me.

# Yes, but far too nice a response to such crap.
Needs a threat to rape their grandmother or stab their dog.
Utter twaddle like that should be punished with extreme pain.

# Someone I used to work with got quite upset when I pointed out that keeping his old laptop was better for the environment than buying one of those "bamboo" ones.
He took quite a bit of convincing.

# ARRRRRRGGGH! FOOLS AND IDIOTS!
Less than 10% of the materials are sort of eco friendly, sort of.
So, out of 200%, you have a ~190% eco score. Well done, tard!
Your method gets half score with no effort or additional cash.

# he kept going on about how it uses less energy
when I finally got it through to him how much energy was required to build a new computer from scratch, he started saying that he'd still save money because he was using less electricity.

Guess what I said to that.

# I hope it was, "YOU'RE A CLUELESS FUCKING IDIOT WITH THE BRAIN OF A SQUASHED BEETLE!"
But no doubt you were much kinder than I. That line of thinking is really suspect if
you are in an area served by hydro-electric power. That water was headed down
anyway, why not get some use out of it as it goes by? Nuke power is also like that.
Although a little more difficult to gather, tend, and clean up. But not by much.

# Also, growing up in Tassie which is 100% Hydro powered, I should point out that an entire valley of untouched rainforest was flooded to build Lake Pedder.
Tidal Power, now there's your ticket.

# I lived near a place for a while where it was proposed to make a tidal power station.
It was shit canned because a bunch of idiots built a few cities down the coast from the site on sandbars!
There was a fear that those would be destroyed and other areas would be flooded. Not that they had any
real data to back this up. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bay_of_Fundy#Tidal_electrical_power_generation
