Not surprised.I'm the market manager for my local farmers' market. Those sorts of products always seem to go down well. In fact, our chutney man has stopped coming because his newly opened shop has become such a success.

It's a bit of a blow too.We had a micro-brewery who has pulled out too because bottling up for the market wasn't worth it. He sells casks to local pubs only now. And one of our bakers went bust.
As luck would have it, it's come at a good time though. We also aren't allowed outdoor stalls in winter either, as the local covered market has some ancient charter from the 13th century saying we can't (apparently). So it means I had a load of traders from outdoors who I had to find space for indoors this month. Managed to squeeze them in.
I don't know why the borough market are complaining; their food hall is shit. The butcher's don't even use real carcasses - they buy everything wholesale. It's not like we're taking their customers; all our customers are people who want to buy good food.

I think Reggae Reggae sauce has been, in a sense, a victim of its own success.It's whole charm and unique selling point was that a cheerful black man made it in his kitchen and sang as he did it. Now they make 150,000 bottles a week in a factory, there's nothing separating it from any other mass produced table sauce. Still, I bet he's making a shed load of money, so that's good.
