I'll stress I tried. On photoshop Click for bigger (366 kb) Nice comments? My faith in my 'talent' (if you can call it that) was shaken.

I like that very much.
Drawing on Photoshop is not very easy. Unless you have a tablet, but even then, I don't think it's that easy. Plus you have to have some natural talent which passed me wayyyyyyy by.

Really?
Drawing once you get there is like riding a bike. But perfecting it is soemthing else.

See what I mean?
I have CS3 for my work, and I can hardly do anything with it except TOAP. Natural talent gives the edge over softwares anyday.

I disagree!
I used to play with drawing in pencils, charcol etc and reached a standard (Not a high one, but one that kept me happy). Drawing with a mouse in Photoshop was as different to that as riding a bike is to driving a Ferrari. Same road, perhaps, but all new skills required.

do you use a tablet??
have you got shape dynamics switched to pen pressure in the brush dialogue??

Tablet, yes
But those settings I'll have to look in.

do look at them
as its pressure sensitive its worth it - the line thickness can be adjusted through the pressure you put on the stylus :D

when I get a tablet, will I be ok with CS2 still
or will I have to make the scary jump to something more up to date?

And also I think your skills are improving each time you post something. So keep at it, soldier! :)

I wish >_<

Don't be so hard on yourself
This is a good drawing. There is skill here. Keep working on it if you enjoy working on it :) Its supposed to be fun, you know.

you're still mostly just implying things with vague lines rather than actually drawing anything concrete
