May I suggest the Fitzroy Tavern?

It's much bigger than the Endurance, has loads more (i.e. some!) atmosphere, has better beer (including that yummy German wheat beer that comes in a big tall curvy glass that looks a bit like a lady, oh my) and is cheaper, too (~£2.50 a pint last time I was there, not too shabby for central That London). You can also sit outside. Only downside is it tends to get a bit busy, but that's generally worse on Fridays. There's a downstairs room that's bookable, and has its own bar.

Anyone fancy that?

(p.s. there seems to be some weird messageboard-type argument going on on the beerintheevening site - just ignore it, I only linked to it for the map. It's about a five minute walk from TCR tube.)
