An ex-bootie would be jolly handy on a mountain I'm sure.

You utter fucking mental case

Can I point out to everyone signing up to this that you ACTUALLY HAVE TO WALK UP A MOUNTAIN IN ONE DAY AND NOT DIE

(, Sat 23 Dec 2006, 11:50, Reply)
I've walked up this mountain in 2 hours before. It's not

that bad. Carrying the crosses will be hard work though, unless we get them taken up on the train.

(, Sat 23 Dec 2006, 14:30, Reply)
Did you go up the easy side?

We'll be going up the difficult side. In our pants. Barefoot.

(, Sun 24 Dec 2006, 9:02, Reply)
Carrying a cross

I'm fucking up for this

(, Tue 26 Dec 2006, 16:27, Reply)
Meh - it's The Beard's birthday the day before

but I should still be able to come

(, Wed 27 Dec 2006, 10:12, Reply)
Damion will be wearing a loincloth

I'm not sure of my outfit yet. Will you be coming as Xena?

(, Thu 28 Dec 2006, 17:10, Reply)
I was thinking more of just a toga/loincloth

and a fuck-off big cross

(, Fri 29 Dec 2006, 11:51, Reply)
b3tans and a fuck off big hill

How can it go wrong!

(, Wed 27 Dec 2006, 10:26, Reply)
Seriously now.

This sounds so fucking wrong and stupid that I'm almost duty-bound to chase you all up there.
I need infromations though. How far walking is involved, what sort of terrain, is it going to rain and is there a pub at the top?

(, Wed 27 Dec 2006, 14:05, Reply)
Yes join us.

I'm not sure of the exact distance, however anyone with a reasonable amount of fitness should be able to make it within a few hours. You can also take the train (or the easy path) back down which makes life a lot easier, should you be a bit knackered after the summit. There is a fair amount of scree scrambling involved towards the top, but on the whole it is just good, leg pumping steep hill stuff.

Yes, it will almost certainly rain.

No pub, however being b3tans, I am sure we will manage to sniff one out at the bottom :)

I should add though, that this is not a simple ramble; it's not that hard, but don't underestimate it.

(, Wed 27 Dec 2006, 18:05, Reply)
1 person a year dies on this walk don't they?

(, Tue 2 Jan 2007, 12:43, Reply)
Yes, but that statistic

is sampled from a population of people NOT DRAGGING A BIG FUCKING CROSS UP WITH THEM.

(, Wed 3 Jan 2007, 12:24, Reply)
ROAR!

To paraphrase the girl from The Exorcist, "We're going to die up there."

(, Wed 3 Jan 2007, 17:40, Reply)
I'm happy with a bunk house

The first one looks a better option though.

The second one has a "NO MUSIC POLICY"; silly cunts.

(, Thu 28 Dec 2006, 5:47, Reply)
Yeah. But it is half an hour closer to the start point.

(, Thu 28 Dec 2006, 9:35, Reply)
Half an hour is nothing if it's a three-or-so hour walk anyway.

Oh, and I can definitely come. If someone could direct me which the nearest train station is, or fancies picking me up in their car from somewhere (I live in Birmingham but could get to most places which have a train station. Especially mid-wales)

(, Fri 29 Dec 2006, 17:06, Reply)
Real men

sleep in their cars.

(, Fri 29 Dec 2006, 10:58, Reply)
You'd know.

You're normally there sucking them off first.

(, Fri 29 Dec 2006, 14:30, Reply)
I am devastated that I cannot go, as I will be attending a concert in Glasgow that evening

Have fun, you utter, utter, mentalists.

(, Wed 3 Jan 2007, 12:07, Reply)
Have looked up trains and the like, and there is a station in Rhydd Du itself

Unfortunately, it's only for a local narrow gauge railway, which doesn't have any connections with the proper railway system in any of the towns it goes through.
So I think this is going to require cars. And if necessary people giving other people lifts (i.e. me). I'll look for the closest town with a station later this afternoon, in case it ends up with some car people having to run people from the station.

(, Wed 3 Jan 2007, 12:28, Reply)
I am likely to be driving.

If anyone lives between Portsmouth and Snowdon, let me know. I could pick people up on the way.

(, Wed 3 Jan 2007, 17:42, Reply)
I wouldn't mind booking a spot in said car, as I think you'll have to come through Birmingham anyway

And I could get to one of the services to be picked up. If that's not possible I can get somewhere else easier for you.
Well, it does look like I'm certainly coming then. Wow. Never done Snowdon before.

(, Wed 3 Jan 2007, 19:43, Reply)
DONE!

(, Thu 4 Jan 2007, 8:49, Reply)
Jesus.

I have no idea how we're going to get there.

(, Wed 3 Jan 2007, 21:44, Reply)
YOU CANT FUCKING CANCEL IT
