Reminds me of why I stopped listening to it altogether years ago

I listened to an "In our time" on the iPlayer yesterday
And it's the home of "On the hour" and other comedic greats.
I bet you listen to Wave 105, don't you?

6Music, actually
But yeah, I'm sure there's a number of good programmes on there if you look them up on iPlayer. It's just every time I tune into Radio 4 itself, it's always John Humphreys arguing the toss or the bloody Archers.

I'm a fan of 6music. I think it's the best music station available by a long way.

I agree.
And whilst it is undeniably good, it's hardly got any competition out there. Bunch of shitkickers with adverts every 5 minutes.
Gideon Coe can be a massive pretentious cunt 99% of the time though.

He's called Gideon, what do you expect? That's the weigh off for interesting playlists I guess.

He does an uncanny impression of
Charlie Sheen every now and again!

Very well done
I listen to a few things on iPlayer while I'm cooking/washing up but it's a shame there's so much smug toss on there. Too many shows that have been running so long they might as well just randomly shuffle sentences around (I love Clue and Just A Minute, but really Radio 4, just let them die!) and what the hell is it with the 'comedy lecture' format? I listened to 3 minutes of a Chris Addison one before wanting to smash my TV in.

Does anyone else really dislike Chris Addison?
I've nothing against his acting but whenever he's being himself he comes across as a smug, know-nothing prick.

That's quite accurate :)
but in our time is fucking brilliant and I won't hear a bad word said against it.

I love this.
And I also love Radio 4. And clearly the guy who wrote/performed this loves Radio 4 too, otherwise he wouldn't have had the knowledge to write/perform it so well.
They're both brilliant.
