This is a normal post i can't shake the feeling that this is utterly insane
but then there are probably a lot of technical innovations that only happen because we are continually making new stuff. After all, life itself uses planned obsolescence and thats how evolution happens. And I guess that in itself would justify disposable culture, but only if the disposal and recycling were also a large part of the plan. Which I get the feeling they are not.

This is a normal post heard a doc on radio 4 a year or so ago
fink it was that evan davis fella talking to rich folk. some guy in charge of a data centre in nw uk near liverpool (couldn't reveal location for security reasons) claimed it consumed the same amount of energy as nine nhs hospitals per day. business matters?
