www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFDe5kUUyT0 The money you spend... is a loan already.

What else to do with time?? Educate, perhaps, innovate - enjoy LIFE - some sort of Utopian star trek world, I don't know. It's been decided that we must be controlled by money and spending.

This is a normal post So,
A mass economic system where a central group pay for the population to have electric, heat, water, transport, healthcare, welfare, buildings, technology, education etc.
The population demands more.
So they borrow money to do it. Then have to pay interest on that money. Which is how loans work. The population that needs the services pays for it through taxes.
It might not be the most fair system as those providing the capital to borrow stand to gain the most. But they are the ones that allow the system to work. Without the guys at the top it would all fall apart.
Is there a better way that would work to cover millions of people on such a huge scale?
I'm all ears to alternatives that could actually function in a modern world.

This is a normal post i can't shake the feeling that this is utterly insane
but then there are probably a lot of technical innovations that only happen because we are continually making new stuff. After all, life itself uses planned obsolescence and thats how evolution happens. And I guess that in itself would justify disposable culture, but only if the disposal and recycling were also a large part of the plan. Which I get the feeling they are not.

This is a normal post Excellent!
I worked as an Industrial (Product) Designer for about 30 years- I went to school in the Ecological Revolution years and I always tried to avoid the "design to fail" concept. Was not always successful, but I tried.

BTW, I have been to see the famous lightbulb in Livermore, CA!)
