Channel 4 news seems to take The Day Today as something to aspire to.

Their breathtaking incompetence continues.
They named the perpetrator of today's events as a man who is currently in prison.

The IT Crowd finished four years ago.
Black Books finished 13 years ago.
The Island is generic reality TV.
Channel 4 news is what they said ^
Derren Brown seems to be making a decent amount of money from stage acts rather than TV now.
And I've never even heard of Catastrophe.

Catastrophe is quite good.
Many good sex jokes. Not much else though.

They still make some good stuff.
I'd add Toast of London, Man Down and Friday Night Dinner to your list.
However, they do seem to have lost all sense of being in any way countercultural, which is a pity.

I'll go with that
My memories of the early days are The Tube, a very enjoyable production of Accidental Death of an Anarchist and a Denis Leary stand-up show which deserves a post of its own. It seemed like radical stuff at the time.
