One of my reddit chums got some great pictures, as did her boyfriend. The DM decided to use their tweets in the article... to which the boyfriend took offence.
The link might change, but I captured a screenshot in all its glory. About halfway down.
Yes!

I got £800 from them for using a gif after I said they couldn't
It took months but it's worth keeping badgering them with an invoice

The paper probably makes that amount in 0.1 seconds

more than likely
still, better than the £100 they offered me to begin with. The Sun offered £200 but were at least decent enough to take it straight down when I said no again

So you said 'no' to the Mail on principle because they spread racist propaganda,
but since they used your work despite your refusal you persistently chased them for your share of the profit made from racist propaganda, on principle.

What's racist propaganda got to do with a gif of an electricity pylon?
I said no they can't use it simply because I didn't want them to use/profit from it

Isn't that why you wouldn't let them use it? Would you have said 'no' to the Guardian?

I didn't put that much thought in to it
Just said no when they asked. The guardian didn't ask/use it so I never considered that. I let various science sites use it if that helps.

Still, 800 quid is 800 quid. That'd keep me in pilchards for a bit.

Did they host it
or was it an embedded tweet?
Surely you can only get cash if they host it themselves, right?
Recently, DM, The Sun, and a few other have been noticeably nicking things from reddit subs, especially /r/CasualUK and some people have got a few hundred. Someone else created an offensive watermark, but I think it's better to just let them nick the pictures for a payday.

They hosted a copy of the gif
They asked if they could use it, I said no, it then appeared on their site so I told them to take it down, but they kept running it for 24 hours.

THEY'VE DONE IT!
They hosted his photos for another article, as well as one of mine that someone else tweeted.
Write down everything they've done wrong with times and send it to them.
Include a copy of the request to use the photos The reply saying they can't Then the time the article went up. Send it to [email protected] They'll probably offer £100 first. You can expect them to go quiet for weeks at a time

I'm surprised there is no
account dedicated to retweeting responses to the Mail picture desk.
even though I always feel dirty clicking on a Daily Mail link
this time it was worth it. top find
