is a flattard. I don't think there's a conspiracy theory he doesn't believe. I could rant for several paragraphs about how fucking stupid he is, and probably have done several times before. He's probably incurable by this stage.

I think you do have to be as thick as mince to be taken in by it, but that's not all there is to it. Oppositional Defiance Disorder probably has a lot to do with it. Shame/fear of losing face probably has a large part to play too. The cultish thrill of having access to suppressed information is probably only the start of it.
