This is a link post The money was just resting in my account.
Corrupt EU politician caught with a bag full of cash claims she was just on the way to return it to the 'lobbyist' that gave it to her boyfriend that happened to be working for said lobbyist.
You think the tories are bad, the EU parliament is a cesspit.
ETA: at the same time, her father was caught on the street with yet another suitcase full of cash. What a coincidence.

This is a normal post The awful truth is he's not even the worst one over here anymore.
Things are so bad and polarised here, I felt compelled to vote for the fist time in years. Still, with the result as it is, I'm sure there'll be another general election within a year or so.

This is a normal post In my biased opinion
his and some other parties' massive success is the result of the (former) main parties totally and rather arrogantly ignoring peoples actual concerns.

This is a normal post The EU parliament seems to have acted swiftly and worked with law enforcement to uncover this case of corruption.
The tories would have tried to change the rules to make it legal, decent and moral to accept bags of cash from Qatari lobbyists.

Whatever, I'm going to wait for her trial before declaring her guilty or innocent.

This is a normal post pass the dutchie on the right wing side
these people are being investigated and prosecuted for taking donations to influence policy. Ashcroft funneled millions of pounds into the tory party using holding companies based in tax havens, and he was given a KCMG

This is a normal post UK electoral law forbids political donations from non-uk registered companies
Ashcroft used non-dom holding companies to funnel millions into multiple races in marginal seats, the Electoral commission investigated and Ashcroft and the tory branches refused to answer, and the EC didn't have the power to compel them. After Cameron won in 2010 off the back of an avalanche of ashcroft money, they were incurious in following the matter any further, gave Ashcroft a peerage, and have been in power ever since. The greek sheila above, in contrast, has already served prison time and it's unlikely her bullshit alibi will save her in the investigation. Meanwhile Ashcroft owns companies that own companies like Medacs that tories awarded 350 million pound contracts for making a meal of test and trace during covid.
