GPO=UK General Post office or USA Government Publishing Office?

This is a normal post Post Office. The actual Post Office drew up designs for space ships.
I want to say hardback with black cover but to be fair I was only 7 at the time and that probably covers most space books. I also remember there being a couple of pages devoted to space toilets.

This is a normal post The 2 pages on
number 2s must be a common thing, when I read that I reached over for my copy of Living In Space by Peter Smolders (published 1986 by Airlife) which mostly deals with the shuttle program, Salyut, Skylab and Spacelab, was originally written in Dutch, and is definitely not your book.

This is a normal post I wouldn’t go to too much effort.
There’s every chance you could find the exact book and I wouldn’t recognise it. It had cutaways of NERVA and Daedalus/Orion engines too.

Every chance I’m misremembering but I think the toilet instructions part actually had a shot of those from 2001.

This is a normal post GPO was dissolved in 1969, replaced by Post Office Ltd.,
but I have found one book published by GPO in 1970... Which has nothing to do with space. Finding a list of GPO publications is proving bizarrely difficult, I'm sure search engines and libraries used to be good for this sort of thing.

There are a lot of technical books/pamphlets relating to space published by the American GPO (e.g. presidential/senate/committee reports on space projects and research) that overwhelm search results on biblio and abebooks... Many of these are sure to contain diagrams and cutaways...

Also there are lots of cutaway books from the 50s onwards (Eagle dedicated at least two hardbacks to them) but relatively few devoted to space. This should be easy, dammit.

This is a normal post It wasn't produced by GPO.
Perhaps I'm not explaining well enough. The GPO produced serious designs for space craft and EVA suits. I'm not joking, though given how hard it is to find an example I'm beginning to wonder if I had some sort of fever dream.

Fuck. I seem to be gaslighting myself now, but I could swear I even saw a feature on TV about them.

Fuck it, I'm driving myself mad over this post office business. Only hope now is to track down that damned book I suppose.
