I've found that people who fix things often do it worse than I do. I usually have to make things better, often spending more than my wife spent on the original repair. One time I got the council to come out and they unblocked a drain that the "pro"'s couldn't. It cost me nothing apart from the 3000 pounds that my wife had already spent on people who guaranteed they'd do it or no charge. Then there was the door on the rental...
