He would have been good
but IMO he has too much Who related history with Torchwood.
My favourite one I heard recently was Richard Ayoade. The voice might need a little work, but he has the 'smart, eccentric, energetic' thing down pat. I would love to see a scene where the next companion makes romantic overtures, and he says it would be like getting romantic with a pet.
