All birds can do that. It's necessary for them to be able to keep their heads stable and fixed viewing an object during flight, or for that matter when walking. It does however look dead cool.

It's not just me that noticed this, then. I used to amuse myself in exactly the same way as this bloke did, i.e. bouncing the chooks around and watching their heads stay stock-still!

I also used to amuse myself by holding the chicken firmly, tail facing the unsuspecting visitor, and quickly flipping the chicken's head-end forward and downwards. The bird's response is to flick its tail up and flare it out for balance. And it flashes the unsuspecting viewer with a full-on view of it's cloaca puckering in and out. I would then say "Congratulations, you've just had your photo taken".

Yes, chicken goatse and a stupid line to go with it. Did I mention that I still do this to my man and laugh my head off afterwards? Ha ha!
