Ive not actually seen it (I don't like thriller/slasher/horror) but the puppet shark does look rubbish.

I don't think a CGI one would look real but I wonder if it would look better

just watched the remake of Star Trek TNG Season 1 on blu ray. they did all the same things in this vid.. everything scanned from 35mm negatives, all effects recomposited.. it looks incredible.

I have to say I always thought they'd give Bruce the shark a CGI makeover - at least for an alternate cut.
