This is a link post Battlefield 3. Look about three posts down.
This isn't a funny link.

It's not even relevant to a few of you.

But B1942 was a major part of my gaming life and THIS fucker just got leaked.

I don't mind saying that a teeny-weeny globule of spunk is, as we speak, slowly dribbling down my thigh.

This is a normal post Bad Company 2 certainly borrowed a considerable portion of my essay-writing time from me,
so this one definately looks like it's worth keeping my eyes on.

It'll be interesting to see whether their loyalty to PC gamers last though in light of what DICE recently announced regarding the Battlefield franchise (see www.megagames.com/news/dice-cancels-two-pc-battlefield-projects).

Good find though; some mates of mine will have gluey pants when this gets around.

I'm with you, but Dice have always been PC centric. They were very critical of the COD and MOH series - no prone, no modding.

They've maintained that have a huge amount of autonomy and they'll make sure that the PC is the flagship release for BF3.

I mean, I'd rather play BF2 than watch some kid in MOH get a killstreak and 'earn an Apache strike.' I mean, come on.

Project Reality is a perfect example of what Dice allows modders to do to their engine (and let's face it, Desert Combat was a mod of 1942 that actually bettered the game.)

This is a normal post Im completely behind the whole Battlefield thing
I play codblops purely because all of my mates do (and because Zombies is a great way to lose a night) but I am always moaning that we never play enough Bad Company 2. Battlefield games have always been the perfect midpoint between cheater's havens like COD or MOH and (a bit more) realistic shooters like ARMA and Op Flash; they provide both the fun that you get from de-tagging a 12 year-old and the ultimate win that comes from progressive teamwork.

The only issue I have with this is that, like Crysis 2, a game that should be a PC title will ultimately be released as a console port as that is where the majority of the market is. It's a shame really, but its understandable considering that it costs me in excess of £600 to overhaul my base unit every two years to keep in with recommended game specs; it wouldnt cost me a penny over rrp to keep my console working with every new game.

This is a normal post As I use a laptop with a fairly archaic chip in it
I hadn't played a game made after 2005 for about three years. Then I went home for Christmas and played Black Ops on my little brother's Xbox. I felt like an Edwardian who had been handed a virtual reality set. Games are inbloodycredible now. I also had a go on Bad Company 2, and as this seems to be a newer take on that, I'm sure that at some point in the future it'll find a way to turn me into a dribbling potato.

This is a normal post but but but!!
I want that buzz I had with 1942. It was never the same after and every time they go and poop it by doing modern warfare when theres so much of that about already. *cries :(

This is a normal post I'm with you spunker!
I can remember when I first saw screenshots of BF2 and thinking OMFG WHOA!

...turned out the game was about as balanced as a Fox News report on gay atheists and had nowhere near the amount of content (vehicles, maps, etc.) as BF1942... and then there were the mods!

This is a normal post Ooh yeah. Big Battlefield fan. BF3 will be a (rare for me) pre-order.
Looking forward to this. I like BFBC2, but the maps are too small and deaths are too random. If BF3 has bigger maps and more players, it will be awesome.
