As I'm no longer paying for my Adobe suite
I did it by eye, the old fashioned way. It probably shows tbh. Just panning over a background, as in the Aliens example. I did a bit of research into analogue star backgrounds for anyone interested - on Star Wars they actually had a painted black dome structure with "star" holes made to draw in light, effectively like a Victorian planetarium, which they would move the camera around inside. Very effective. Can't find any pics of it, mind
