This is a link post Epileptic boy, 12, will get cannabis oil
Been following this case.
Glad to see a bit of common sense happening.

There are legal routes to getting THC but they need to be more widely prescribed and a lot of doctors don't seem to want to take the risk.

[edit ]
Story has been updated.
"The oil arrived at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where Billy is being treated, on Saturday afternoon. It was administered under a special 20-day licence and is not allowed to be taken home."
So he'll be kept in hospital for a few weeks and then this whole thing will start again.

This is a normal post I could do with some of that, for medicinal purposes you understand. 283 days.

This is a normal post People need to listen to science more and politicians less.

This is a normal post But politicians are experts in everything by virtue of the fact they win an election. We should certainly defer to them on Brexit, amongst other things.
The leaders of the EU have such levels of expertise they don't need to waste their time with elections.

This is a normal post No. We should feed them all into a wood chipper and start again.
I advocate going back to the system of local representation by iron age kings who we sacrifice on a big rock should the harvest fail.

This is a normal post As of about 2pm today I have decided being ruled by a facististic, whimsical, marching cat band would be good.

This is a normal post I expect that it’s bloody hard to get the licenses required to conduct trials

This is a normal post Given that recreational weed use is now legal to use in about a dozen states I don't think it would be hard at all in the USA to conduct such trials.
We've been cultivating opium poppies in the the UK for medical purposes for over a decade. I think the various exemptions and licenses wouldn't be hard to come by. There certainly seems to be little will to pick it up and run with it though, and I don't think this is because of politics. Politics didn't hold back opiates in the USA. I think cannabis' curative properties are probably being massively overstated by stoners, and people in cases like this with anecdotal evidence.

This is a normal post They can't patent it.
Ironically, more people have died of acute symptoms whilst testing the alternative formulations.

Also, 60+ years of propaganda.

This is a normal post Just as that propaganda was being effectively debunked super strength skunk emerged and made the myth of Reefer Madness a reality.
And now we have synthetic cannaboid 'spice' to add to the mix. I was always about the hash.

This is a normal post seems like with the arms industry, we're apparently against shooting folk and blowing them up
but more than happy to manufacture and sell the means for others to do so
