This is a normal post It's an interesting argument.
I thought the reason why people dislike plastic bags is a lot of them end in waterways and the ocean where they are bad for wildlife. i don't think carbon footprints are really thought about.

This is a normal post That's one reason, sure.
Unfortunately, this article looks like it could be used to convince people that the 5p bag tax should be dropped. The best thing about the bag tax is that it encourages people to reuse their bags.

This is a normal post Well funnily enough
I did used to reuse my bags. Now I have to go and buy fucking bags instead that I would have previously got for free.

Secondly, that 5p is going to charity, so that's okay then. Only which charity? Donkey sanctuary? Distressed air hostesses? The Association for the Care of Convicted Rapists? A donation is voluntary. If you're forced to donate, then it's a stealth tax.

Wake up sheeple!

The point of reducing their use is wholly missed by this article.

This is a normal post I only read the Independent link
Which made no mention of their poor biodegradability. Swings and roundabouts innit.

This is a normal post If only these articles had been published several years before 5p charges were introduced.
