This is a normal post I deal with fucking rakes of them at work.
The ones without masks don't really bother me, they might be legitimately exempt (although it's probably absolute bollocks). But the amount of bellends I see walking around with their noses poking out, or browsing stock with their mask on their chin just to pull it back up before they reach the counter is unbelievable. Then you've got the idiots that pull their masks down to talk to you.
Honest to fuck, I'm at the point now where I feel the best course of action would just be to resume normal operating procedure and let the weak fucking die. We don't know if we'll ever see a viable vaccine, or whether the virus becomes seasonal and ends up basically being some new super Flu, for want of a better comparison.
Once the kids go back to school and begin coughing all over each other and taking the virus home with them, cases are going to fucking explode again. Recent news reports have confirmed that the British are too fucking selfish and ignorant as a society to do what they need to do in order to contain the virus, so let's just fucking have it, I say.

Christ knows if we somehow do manage to overcome this particular little bundle of parasitic matter, it'll only be a matter of time before nature brews up a more efficient strain in order to cut back our numbers a bit.

I'll continue to follow government advice, I'm a bit of a cunt, but I'm not a total bellend. But honestly, it just feels like we're postponing the inevitable at this point.

This is a normal post In March, I remember am old lady coughing every two steps
I'm pretty sure my dad caught it in the ASDA/ASDA opticians early March.
Brutal brutal thing.
Despite the massive death toll there are so many people who haven't lost someone so have just found the whole thing an inconvenience. And I'm aghast that some are keeping themselves occupied at the moment with conspiracy theories.
I have some faith in a vaccine coming, but that while field needs to progress a quantum leap from where it's at. I worked in virology early on in my career, and progress has been linear since then. We had a tiny financial boost with hn51, I think it was. Everything is very reactive and understated.

This is a normal post Colleague's bother bought the farm
He spent a few weeks in hospital, did not need the respirator, but still pretty sick.
Pulled through, all seemed ok, sent him home still very tired but feeling pretty good.
Died of a heart attack about two weeks later.

He was 27, apparently "moderate" bouts of COVID seem to "exhaust" the heart muscle in young fit subjects.

Total rest and recovery is to be taken very seriously.
Even in young fit subjects.

This is a normal post Horrible
I'm really sorry to hear that.

My mum recovered, and seemed to make a pretty good recovery, but she still gets wiped out for a few days to a degree that concerns me somewhat.

This is a normal post I mean it kind of has to be reactive, you're not going to get grant money to make a vaccine for a theoretical mutation

This is a normal post Vaccines aren't the entirely of virology though
And I'm certain we could reduce the turnaround on creating candidate vaccines.

This is a normal post The good news though is that the ignorant fuckwit section of society will be hit the hardest
The bad news is that they’ll take a bunch of other people with them.
