Being a chainsaw owner
I've always thought they'd make fairly poor melee weapons in a zombie horde attack.

I always thought.....
....a weaponized chainsaw would have to be much lighter and vibrate a lot less. They could weight the end of the blade to make it swingable (Is that a word?) too.

To get a proper swing you'ld need an end-on pommel handle
For the weight it'ld have to be a two handed one like a broadsword but the balance would be off.
Only option I can see is to craft the body in titanium and the handle weighted with lead.
But given the amount of blood / body matter spray your going to have our protagonist is going to need a full hazmat suit in order not to become infected.
I really don't think their've though this through.

It's more the fact..
..that the chain would actually take a while to chew through a zomb, would have trouble with bone and would probably clog up with fabric.
Sorry to be a party pooper but come the zombie apocalypse you'll thank me.

Oh I agree, plus during a zombie apocalypse you don't want any weapon that relies on consumables.
A simple broadsword should survice to cleave the head from the shoulders.

Like all video games, *especially* Japanese ones, don't get hyped until you see actual gameplay footage.
There's no point to the video, beyond BEHOLD OUR TITS AND DEATH. Is this an ARPG? Dead Rising rip-off? Ludicrous button-bash-athon like No Hero? The hype tells me nothing.
Hot bird in a microskirt uses exploding(!?!?) chainsaw to elaborately destroy enemies that are trying to rape/eat her. Nothing stereotypical about this J-game.
Nothing at all.

i was looking forward to this, but the main character design is awful
I was hoping for something a bit more stylised, to go with the ridiculous premise. Something a bit like gorillaz or Dean yeagles Mandy character, here:

Even something completely unique like bayonetta would be welcome. Instead, we get a bland, forgettable looking japanese love doll who looks neither realistic or stylised.
Bah - they should have got me to design her! I would have given her a CDC and some rart chebs
