I'm certain the cash register makes a Sonic style "You got a ring, well done you" sound at about 6 seconds in.

the poor guy seems like he's lost all hope, driven to it. Feel bad for them both. THe yanks will probably give him the chair

He apparently has form for armed robbery
So its not like its some one that has just "snapped" like a real life breaking bad or something. I kind of get it though, its nice to see good manners even if he's robbing some one. Though it doesn't change the fact that he pointed a gun at some one and stole money, so the judicial system has to be dispassionate and convict him on the crime he committed not the manner in which he committed it, taking into account that he has a history of doing this and so needs rehabilitation and help in getting him "back on his feet".
The cynic in me also thinks that he possibly acted in that way knowing that a lot of stores have audio with their cctv?

Awww. =(
If the shop keeper doesn't... prosecute or whatever it's called, then surely he can't be taken to court?
I hope if they catch him they'll let him off easy. That was the saddest and most polite robbery I've ever seen.

So if someone came at you with a gun and asked politely for all your money...
bankcards and what not you'd be fine with that and just hand it all over? You wouldn't report it to the police? You would not want the man caught or brought to trial? What's your address? :)

Phoning the police to alert them to what has happened and taking it all the way to trial...
... are different things. And I'm poorer than the man who robbed the shop keeper! You can keep your hands away from my treasured bus fare, thank you very much. That's got to last me two weeks!

I hope it's up to the shopkeeper whether or not to press charges
He offers the guy 40 dollars, so doesn't seem like a cold-hearted bloke himself.
