This is a question Redundant technology

Music on vinyl records, mobile phones the size of house bricks and pornography printed on paper. What hideously out of date stuff do you still use?

Thanks to boozehound for the suggestion

Shaving
For years I was never satisfied with my shave. I hated the creams and gels that were readily available and my neck in particular would usually end up breaking out in horrible razor burn afterwards. I didn't really like electric razors and when I tried shaving oil it just left my skin feeling greasy. A few months ago I switched to glycerin soap and a badger brush, then even more recently I bought myself a safety razor. I couldn't find a vintage one so I bought a Chinese-made model I found online. The principle is the same, and the single blade shaves just as close as the three, four or five bladed razors I've used in the past.

Now I can get a close shave without irritation or looking like I've caught something horrible.

you might like to try
shaving oil, not expensive and a couple of drops does the trick. Great for travel too.

I guess it helps if you wash your face afterwards

Oh, believe me, I did
But where it had already soaked into the skin it still felt as though it left a sheen just sitting on the top of my face, which couldn't be removed no matter how much I washed.

Every 2 years or so I have to go and buy one of these
www.crabtree-evelyn.co.uk/eng/products/bath-body/mens-grooming/shave_soap_in_wooden_bowl?217011

The brush I got has lasted about 10 years, and looks good for another 10.

At first glance it seems pricey, but when you consider how long it lasts it's well worth it
I'm still using a cheap bowl of Wilkinson Sword shaving soap I bought in Tesco when I wasn't sure if I'd stick with it or not. It's doing its job at the moment, so I won't stop using it until it's gone. When it does, however, I shall be sure to experiment will all sorts of wonderful products.
