This is a question This book changed my life

The Goat writes, "Some books have made a huge impact on my life." It's true. It wasn't until the b3ta mods read the Flashman novels that we changed from mild-mannered computer operators into heavily-whiskered copulators, poltroons and all round bastards in a well-known cavalry regiment.

What books have changed the way you think, the way you live, or just gave you a rollicking good time?

Friendly hint: A bit of background rather than just a bunch of book titles would make your stories more readable

Sorry David 2569
I guess this means then we will not be getting a QOTW literary opus from you this week.

What, never read a book?

As Bill Hicks put it:
I was in Nashville, Tennesee last year. After the show I went to a Waffle House. I'm not proud of it, I was hungry. And I'm alone, I'm eating and I'm reading a book, right? Waitress walks over to me: " Hey, whatchoo readin' for?"

Isn't that the weirdest fucking question you've ever heard? Not what am I readING, but what am I reading *for*? Well, godammit, ya stumped me! Why do I read? Well... hmmm... I dunno... I guess I read for a lot of reasons, and the main one is so I don't end up being a fucking waffle waitress.

Some people just don't get it
My Gran's response to anyone reading is "Well if you're bored you can always do a bit of dusting for me". As if you are so mind-numbingly bored you have been forced into reading purely to keep your brain-cells from shutting down and ending your life.

What exactly
is the truth that hurts? "Truth hurts" is a Daily Mail phrase used by people who have no argument.

So there.

What a well constructed post.
I see you've put a lot of effort in to your post. Well done you!

Of course, coming up with a good story that in some way relates to a book you once read would be very difficult, wouldn't it? It's not the quality of the question, it's the quality of the replies!

Bye now.

Bollocks
I'll be reading this QOTW with a pen and paper, taking notes, thank you very much.

Also making notes here...
Gotta plan what I'm taking on my holday and getting loads of ideas.

Every book I own (around 2000) has been read by me at least 4 or 5 times and they're all friends.

If any titles jump into my head, I'll post about them.
