Which is odd as when I see talk of ICBMsThey don't bother.
EDIT: Here's a theory, the military would just say SAM but the M needs repeating in full for other people, still easier than saying the whole thing.

Ah yesbut it's being used by a smart-arsed cunt journalist in a flak jacket, 50 miles from any action, so that's part of the crime. Why do they assume that anyone who gives a fuck would sit in front of the news asking themself "What does SAM stand for?". Or, why do they think that anyone unable to work out what the M stands for will be able to work out the first 2 letters?
Erm, in fact, why aren't they talking about STAMs?
