Damn Right!
I so hate the misuse of 'challenge'.
The customer doesn't have a challenge.
Oh no.
The customer has a big fat hairy-arsed The PROBLEM that needs fixing - something that can't be sorted with a grease-down and a shihatzu.
I sometimes wish that sales and account staff would pull their heads out of their arses long enough for them to see the rest of the world laughing at their imbecility.

And what makes you think 'sales and accounts staff' can't and don't sort out problems?
I've been in sales for many years and i've always worked closely with everyone and anyone who can bring about a positive result.
A lot of sales staff, myself included, don't have the luxury of a monthly wage. Our wages come from turning challenging customers round and either winning business away from less enlightened competitors or turning their negitive experiences so far into more positive ones, thus winning more business.
Sounds like the sales staff and their support collegues at your work are misfiring in some way.
If your sales and accounts staff are imceciles then you better either start talking or get your CV up to date for the enevitable business collapse.
