This is a question Caught!

MJPerry asks: Masturbating, stealing, making the cat dance... when did someone catch you doing something you wanted to remain secret?

i am guilty
of singing along to everything in the car. i try to tone it down when i have company, but if i am by myself, it is neither a pretty sight nor sound. i can actually hold a bit of a tune, but not to the extent that i think i can in my head.

so the other day i was really enjoying myself, driving through central london, not too traffic-filled for once, lovely sun beating down, ipod on shuffle. and the ipod decides to get in the mood and play "time of my life". i was waiting at some traffic lights, happily howling along and thinking teenage girl thoughts about patrick swayze's back in that film, when i suddenly realised that the entire bus stop was staring and laughing and pointing at me.

doom. i had completely forgotten that secret singing along to sad songs is not quite so secret when you have a convertible and it is the summertime...

For A Moment There
I thought you meant the song by Greenday. Not sure whether to be amused or disturbed by the mental image of Swayze rocking out to that one.

Me too...
Oddly enough, during the recent ash cloud fiasco, I was stuck in Switzerland. The day we were piled onto coaches for the trek to London I put my mp3 player on as we drove out of the car park - Green Day's Good Riddance (I hope you had the time of your life) came on...now THAT's synchronicity...

I completely understand
My voiture is used as my own personal rehearsal space. People beside me may think I'm a mumbling idiot, but a nice hand beside the face like I'm posing for the high school yearbook (in my mind) covers it up.

Carry on! Don't worry if it's not good enough for anyone else to hear. Just sing, sing a song! Lalalalalalalala lala la lala la la!

I'm exactly the same...
... and I drive a Royal Mail van for a living.

Depending on the mood of my iPod, I either resemble a constipated crooner or the delivery guy from Scrubs in full thrash metal mode. Still, it makes delivering parcels so much more amusing. And the locals seem to be entertained too...

I do this all the time.
It's also not a good thing to swear at other drivers when it's hot and your windows are wound down...

If they deserve being sworn at
go for it, I say. I have sworn so loudly at some drivers, that they've heard me, through my helmet and their closed window from the left hand side, but I guess when you think that they're trying to kill you you dont tend to hold back.

I also forget
That cyclists and pedestrians can hear me when the roof is down.

I do this!
To make matters worse I often dance around a bit too (exceptionally badly) - and recently was spotted (at low speed I should mention) actually playing a harmonica. (Also badly.)

As a result, I am:
1) Never taking a harmonica in the car again (temptation too strong)
2) Getting rid of the convertible (my in-car habits are too embarassing to be shared).

I'm guilty of doing this
and being quite the rock and metal fan can be found drumming along to the tunes, and if anyone points and/or laughs at me I just smile, give an Alfred Bester wave and carry on

Is it worser,
To do all these things, including punching the air, yelling along to Rage against the Machine and swearing at daft driving when you're walking to work? They don't like it when you shout "Twat!" and they hear you, because they've got their windows down.. :-/
